Deadhead after the first flowering to prolong its blooming time. Tradescantia 'Satin Doll' should be planted in a sunny area, but will tolerate some morning shade, with well-drained soil. It will tolerate damp soil but should not be over watered. 'Satin Doll' mixes beautifully with wild and naturalistic woodlands, in any perennial bed or as a border plant and attracts butterflies.
